Rules for commenters

Who does what. GraphComment is a comments and forums service provided by SEMIOLOGIC to website publishers. When you comment on a site, you take part in that publisher's community: your contributions belong to it, its rules apply, and it moderates. These rules, issued by SEMIOLOGIC, apply on every site using GraphComment; the publisher's own rules come on top when it has some.

Your account. Your GraphComment account lets you take part on every site using it. It only holds your login details; your username, avatar and contributions are attached to a separate profile on each site. Keep your password to yourself. You must be old enough under the law of your country to sign up on your own (15 in France).

Your contributions. You remain responsible for what you post. You grant SEMIOLOGIC only the right to host, display and analyse your contributions on behalf of the site's publisher, as part of running and improving the service. We claim no perpetual licence over your contributions and we do not sell them.

What is not allowed. Illegal content; insults, harassment and threats; hateful or discriminatory speech; spam, unsolicited advertising and malicious links; impersonation; disclosing other people's personal information; explicit sexual or violent content; blatant disinformation.

Moderation. Each site's publisher moderates its community. To help, GraphComment analyses the text of contributions with artificial intelligence: this analysis is on by default and suggests decisions; the publisher makes the final call. Only Enterprise plans, under a specific contract, may leave the whole decision to the AI. To challenge a decision, contact the site's publisher; if it came from SEMIOLOGIC, write to dpo@semiologic.fr.

When SEMIOLOGIC steps in. In case of a threat to the service's security, obvious abuse or a request from an authority, SEMIOLOGIC may remove content or suspend an account, including across all sites.

Reporting content. Use the report button: it alerts the site's publisher.

Deleting your account. From the widget or your account page, at any time. What happens to your contributions depends on each site's setting: deleted by default, anonymised if the publisher chose so; forum topics may be kept. If you log in through the publisher's own account (SSO), contact the publisher.

Your data. See our Privacy policy for commenters.
